Thaumaturgy : Cast and Clash

Thaumaturgy: Cast and Clash is a simple 2D platform fighter game with magics and mystic arts as the main theme. You will be able to choose various mages and magic casters, who practice different mystic arts inspired by different mystic art cultures and pop culture references. Every character has a set of action skills that can be used to mix the combo, making this game emphasizes creating combos and resource management.

Game Features

• Not your typical platform fighter 
  • Each character has a set of unique spells, used for offensive or defensive purposes. each spell is limited by manna and cooldown delay, so it is important to manage them, and utilize them to the full potential!
• It's for everyone!
  • Either casual or competitive players can grab and play the game directly! It has easy to understand mechanics without leaving the depth behind
• Mystic Art showdown!
  • Mages are not always associated with magic wand, flying broom, and pointed hat. We want to provide different understandings of magic and mage throughout cultures, creating a diverse magic showdown, with each mages has their own unique mystic art, personality, even playstyle!

Meet the Initial Characters

We are currently developing five initial characters, with your feedback and support, we are happy to provide more! Here are the first five characters and a little description to each characters

• 'Merlin' - The Eastern-rite Sorcerer
  • 'Merlin' is a master of eastern-rite sorcery and also the leader of a mage faction called The Great Legion. There are rumors on why he is called 'Merlin'. Some said because he is one of the strongest mages in the world of Thaumaturgy, and also the most feared one, mastering eastern-rite sorcery, but also several mystic arts. But some also said that 'Merlin' is the actual Merlin, a mage that lived during Arthurian period, and also the famous mage in history. He becomes immortal, but losing his faith to western mystic arts, and then go to learn eastern mystic arts.

• Lahlan Haddock - The Grandmaster Wizard
  • The Grandmaster Wizard, and also leader of a faction called Magisterium of Arcane Plane, Haddock is the wonder boy of the western wizardry. He once started as a poor boy with no chance to attend wizard academy, but he sure has great talent of mastering magic, exceeding his academy peers. He keep climbing his ranks, from a housekeeper, a teacher, a police, a soldier, an academy principal and more. He has experienced wars and events that involved magic, shaping him to what he has become, the one of the respected wizard in western world.

• Ito Hanze - Ito Clan Shinobi
  • Ito Hanze is a shinobi, mastering a mystic art called the Art of Ninshu, an art utilizing hand seals to cast magic. Ito is also a member of The Great Legions, one of Merlin's trusted spy.   A pale skin and significantly aging on half of his body, caused by using a forbidden magic, really perfects his description as a vicious person with ruthless methods either in battlefield and espionage. But one thing for sure; his loyalty to his clan and the sake of the faction is unquestionable, his blood and sweat belong to them.

• Alicia - Orb Mage
  • In western society, there are certain family lineage who are highly respected, for magic flows from their blood through generations, at least that's what they believe. But what happen if this statement is somehow not true?  Alicia is the cause of this question occurs. She is not an elite mage, in fact, not a mage at all. She was born from an elite mage family, but she never shows any signs of having ability to cast magic, making many people, including her own family question her authenticity as a mage descendant, and despise her. One day she found a mysterious orb that contains a powerful and rare magic source, the pure arcane power. The orb eventually sticks and connects to her, making her to be able to cast magic, but her life changes from that day, as Magisterium and Great Legion are after her for the possession of pure arcane, because they know that she is not just an orb mage, she is something else...

• Agatha - The Illusionist
  • Her family is suspected as Black Magic practitioners, the kind of mystic art that is forbidden in the world of Thaumaturgy. They are hunted down, and unfortunately, young Agatha is separated from her family and never sees them again. Filled with grief and vengeance, she learn to master the black magic to revenge her family. But The Great Legions is managed to prevent her from doing so, teaches her to control her magic and convince her to join the faction for a better cause. But no one knows what is in her head, if she ever has another motives in mind.
